Southwest Corridor Park
Southwest Corridor Park - Park Management Advisory Committee (PMAC)
For over three decades, the Southwest Corridor Park Management Advisory Council (PMAC) has provided a forum for community input regarding the Southwest Corridor Park. Together with the Southwest Corridor Park Conservancy (SWCPC), PMAC helps to channel the energy of users, friends, and volunteers into active stewardship.
PMAC Meetings are held the first Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm and rotate between the three sections of the corridor: at 70 St. Botolph Street in the Back Bay/South End; at the Boston police station on Washington Street in Jamaica Plain; and at the Boston Police Headquarters at One Schroeder Plaza at the corner of Ruggles and Tremont Streets, near Ruggles Station.
The first part of each monthly meeting is devoted to public safety updates. Police from the city, state, MBTA, and Northeastern University report on safety concerns, proposing and soliciting solutions to problems perceived. The second part of the meeting is given over to community updates and member input, with discussion on a range of matters such as special park projects, bicycle/walking path improvements, improvements in signage, volunteer activities, care of plantings and shrubs and membership outreach and advocacy.
